The Rainbow Connection, serving the Community since 1983, has grown to be Alaska’s foremost therapeutic riding center, celebrating its 25th Anniversary last April. Rainbow Connection is the only NARHA (North American Riding for the Handicapped Association) Center in Alaska. This year over 60 children and adults from Anchorage and surrounding areas received physical, emotional or cognitive benefits from participating in a Rainbow Connection Program. This past year Rainbow Connection was able to offer programs in Hippotherapy, Equine Facilitated Therapy & Sports Riding, and Carriage Driving.
In addition, Rainbow Connection provided riding and driving opportunities for the Muscular Dystrophy Camp for the 5th year in a row, and provided an equine experience for campers from HOPE Community Resources, and Camp Cara.
